Business Growth that Hurts

WebMD says that physical therapy is not supposed to hurt. But, have you ever had it??!! I have, and it hurt. It hurt because following a surgical procedure to repair things that are broken or damaged, swelling, stiffness and deep-tissue scarring sets in. The therapy that follows the “procedure” is necessary to rid of those healing-relating scars. The therapy isn’t easy, but the end result is that you become stronger.

The same goes when you have to make painful business decisions. The “scarring, swelling and stiffness” left behind in the body of your business following “procedures” such as necessary layoffs, cuts in budgets, and necessary cuts in services, may come with symptoms that hurt. But just like physical therapy, the desired end result is that the business gets stronger.

Are you experiencing “symptoms” that lead you to believe that it may be necessary to perform some necessary business “procedures”? Remember: the procedure may hurt, but the end result may be worth the temporary pain. Your business may become stronger with time, and with some much needed “therapy” that involves training on the new normal.

Have you had to perform some necessary business procedures lately?
